This is a Afrocentric restaurant that sells healthy foods that are home cooked. The mother is a cook and she’s so sweet and the daughter is the cashier, a little standoffish but kind. I would eat here once a week at one point.
Food is home cooked with love. The oxtails are outstanding.
I have been supporting Kentes Restaurant since 1995. I have NEVER EVER been dissatisfied. The atmosphere is loving and relaxing. I have successfully referred clients, friends, and family over the decades and the feedback was nothing but LOVE. Kentes kitchen is my family’s first alternative when not cooking at home. First time trying this spot out! Today is my son's 18th bday, wanted to get some delicious lunch. Let me to tell you.......the Food was delicious! They had some specials today. We ordered Chicken Rasta pasta, son said it is delicious. I got oxtails and bandage and rice- a bay bay.....the best I've ever had!
The service was not just quality but also personable - when I called I was quickly given the choices available as well as she called me to let me know my food was ready she used my name and was pleasant and let me know she was happy to provide service to me. The food was delicious and seasoned just right. I didn't say easy on the salt or seasoning, but the seasoning did not overshadow the food. I tasted every delicious flavor of the food. If you looking for somewhere to get that ready-made awesome meal...
The food was delicious. I ordered saute shrimps w/ broccoli & rice. Meal came with side of string beans and a roll. My wife got saute shrimps w/spinach & rice with the same sides. Food is cooked after ordering. You do have to wait as your food is being prepared, but it is worth the wait. Can't wait to go back and try out other food listed on the menu.
I’ve been a customer since about 2000. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is great. The atmosphere is family friendly. I’ve ordered several menu items. I have no complaints.
Kente's is a small hole-in-the-wall place, BUT those are the places I prefer to eat! Everything I've had from them was delicious!! What ever you get or try, make sure you get fried broccoli and some lemonade!! Bussing!!!!
This restaurant is my favorite around. The menu caters to my dietary restrictions. The food is flavorful without and doesn't make you feel sluggish after eating.
I came back home for a quick visit and had to order my favorites! Salmon with vegetable rice and fried broccoli, it never disappoints. It truly a hidden gem in Hampton. Thank you again!
